The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our team in Wattleup. In this role you will have the opportunity to deliver procurement and supply chain services to the Crushing and Engineering Divisions. National responsibility for driving the development and execution of the Supply Chain Strategy and managing contracts for suppliers of goods and services, and leadership of the Procurement, Logistics and Stores team.  This role is the Crushing and Engineering contact for global strategy and projects, compliance requirements, and reporting.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager – Crushing & Engineering Solutions, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of supply chain services to the Crushing and Engineering businesses.

  • Leadership of the Procurement, Logistics and Stores functions in Crushing and Engineering businesses.

  • Act as a conduit for the Vice President of Global Supply Chain, Head of Compliance and Internal Control, and other relevant global stakeholders, including roll out of global projects and initiatives, compliance and risk control, reporting, and participation in global supply chain strategies.

  • Coordinate with Procurement Leads from Mining Solutions and Cooling Solutions divisions to align with global expectations, requirements and requests.

  • Participate in Crushing/Engineering Executive Management Team monthly meetings and reporting as required.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to identify reliable suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and optimize procurement processes.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring alignment with HEPI’s values and objectives. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.

  • Oversee the negotiation and management of contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, as well as regulatory requirements.

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and monitor expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining quality standards.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement, stores and logistics processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and streamline operations.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, market fluctuations, and supplier reliability.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence in the Supply Chain team.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to optimize Supply Chain performance through utilizing the ERP to automate and systemize the ordering process.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, particularly regarding ethical sourcing and environmental sustainability.

  • Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, including key metrics, cost savings, and supplier performance evaluations.

 

About You

To be considered for this position you will ideally:

  • Experience in a similar role.

  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or other equivalent qualifications would be highly advantageous.

  • Strong analytical abilities to effectively analyse data and make informed decisions, reducing costs, and driving operational improvements.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, enabling you to influence and negotiate effectively.

  • Proficiency in contract management, supplier relationship management, and cost analysis.

  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent financial acumen and experience in budget management.

  • Able to manage tight timeframes and competing demands, multi-tasking and problem-solving effectively.

  • A positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrated results-driven approach, thriving under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
