POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to coordinate all Logistics for H-E Parts Dom-Ex. This includes domestic and international shipments. Assist with purchasing as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Safety

· Conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.

 

Logistics

· Logistics-inbound and outbound-Fed-Ex, UPS, XPO, flatbeds, ocean containers etc.-compare rates for best shipping options

· Prepare bills of lading for outgoing and incoming shipments

· Export Documentation-Commercial Invoices, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, NAFTAS, work with the customs brokers and forwarders directly.

· Update and maintain Customs files with current Customers Broker information

· Maintain current HTS Codes for exporting and importing

· Updated shipping logs daily with estimated delivery times and shipping charges

· Verify credit cards and/or accounts are current before a shipment leaves our facility

· Verify accuracy of all deliveries.

· Meet with logistics companies for better discounts, service updates etc.

· Provide detailed reports for customers. Specifically, container shipments to oversees customers.

 

Purchasing

· Generate purchase orders for inventory buys, brokerage sales and in some cases for shop usage. There is no decision making involved in this process as that is handled by the sales department.

· Process pack slip for sales orders every morning for inventory relief

 

Miscellaneous

· Complete annual Heavy Vehicle Tax Return, for vehicles 55,000 +.

· File Unified Carrier Registration with the State of Minnesota

· Schedule medical exams for our CDL drivers (DOT physicals)

· DOT inspection renewals

· Licensing of DOT vehicles-including special permits (over width, etc.)

 

DECISION MAKING:

Position will not be required to make decisions that will directly impact the department.

 

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

Position requires collaboration with department managers and current/potential customers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma or GED.

2. Minimum of 2-3 years logistics experience.

3. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

4. Must have intermediate/advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite (*MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Internet
