POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Radiator Technician is responsible for the service and repair of radiators, oil coolers, charge air coolers, and other associated products in line with H-E Parts International Dom-Ex work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), and Q/A standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Safety – safely conduct all activities, utilizing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) adhering to company policy, and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1 

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.  

  • Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision. 

  • Operate grinders, spray painting equipment, and other tools and machinery as required safely. 

  • Read and comprehend instructions, memos, and general correspondence and apply knowledge to carry out instructions. 

  • Basic mathematical skills in weight, volume, and distance measurements. 

  • Developing knowledge of workshop procedures. 

  • Developing knowledge of the use and maintenance of workshop equipment; Developing knowledge of the operation of a plant. 

  • General working knowledge of OSHA regulations.  

  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team. 

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and service on radiators to ensure optimal performance and longevity. 

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with radiators, including leaks, corrosion, and blockages. 

  • Repair or replace damaged components such as valves, pipes, and fittings. 

  • Test radiators for efficiency and safety after repair. 

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and labor hours through Pronto. 

  • Collaborate with others as needed. 

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to radiator maintenance. 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

  • Proven experience as a Radiator Fitter or similar role of at least two (2) years 

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications required. 

  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools effectively required. 

  • Knowledge of diverse types of radiators, including cast iron, steel, and aluminum required. 

  • Familiarity with heating systems and components such as boilers, pumps, and thermostats required. 

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail necessary. 

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are required. 

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft software required (Word, Excel, etc.)  

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs., and work in confined spaces required. 

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  

  • Additional vocational training or certification is a plus. 

  • Welding and brazing are a plus.
