Title:  Software Developer

H-E Parts International is looking for a hands-on, curious, and capable Software Developer to join our in-house IT team. This full-time, on-site role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of legacy system transformation and next-generation technology — including packaged platforms, AI-enabled solutions, and cloud modernization.

Position Summary

The Software Developer will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining business-critical software applications that support daily operations. This role blends legacy system maintenance with modernization efforts and requires someone who is just as comfortable solving today’s problems as building for tomorrow. You’ll work closely with both IT and business teams in a manufacturing environment that values practical innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement.---

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, test, debug, and document software solutions that support operational and strategic business needs

· Enhance and maintain existing custom applications, with a focus on improving performance, usability, and scalability

· Analyze user requirements and translate them into functional specifications and technical designs

· Participate in modernization efforts by migrating legacy systems to more sustainable platforms

· Integrate internal systems with third-party platforms, cloud services, and data tools

· Monitor application health and performance, resolve issues, and support end users

· Create clear documentation for code, workflows, and user-facing instructions

· Collaborate across IT and business units to align software development with business priorities

· Contribute technical expertise and recommendations to IT leadership and project teams

· Maintain high standards of data privacy and system security

· Provide occasional travel-based support and training at branch locations

· Support additional initiatives or tasks as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Experience in software and web development (C#, MVC, PHP, HTML)

· Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server)

· REST API development and integration

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and data integration methods

· Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills

· Experience working in both Windows and Linux server environments

· Ability to maintain and improve legacy software while contributing to modern replacements

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently

· Clear, effective communication and documentation skills

· Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed

Preferred (Not Required) Skills

· CSS, JavaScript, jQuery/jQuery UI, JSON

· Bootstrap, Entity Framework, Laravel

· GitHub, TFS

· PowerBI or other Data Platform integration experience

· Unidata/Unibasic or other Multi-Valued Database Systems

· Development in cloud technology

· Cross-browser compatibility troubleshooting

· Advanced configuration and tuning of Apache or IIS web servers

· Experience with Web 2.0 application development

Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience

· 2+ years Prior experience in IT or software development

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
