POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Shop Admin will be responsible for both gathering and synthesizing technical informationThe position exists to aid in the creation of electronic documentation for use in the remanufacturing of multiple products.  This position is responsible for gathering, organizing, auditing, and comparing both technical data, and visual reference media used in the remanufacturing process. The position will also be responsible for helping develop new visual media to improve reference / instructional documentation. The position will work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering, to develop effective electronic documentation / instruction, and assist in creating and maintaining consistency in shop floor processes across branches. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Performs process observations on shop floor, gathering the following:  

  • Images 

  • Specifications 

  • Descriptions of procedures 

  • Information on the order of steps in a given process 

  • Creates / Upkeeps electronic documentation utilizing technical data from technical experts. 

  • Monitors shop floor electronic documentation usage for errors and shortcomings. 

  • Creates / Edits visual reference media. 

  • Takes part in the compilation of technical information for review. 

  • Other duties/special projects as assigned. 

Profile 

Education & Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required) 

  • Four year degree in one of the following (preferred): 

  • Technical Writing 

  • Graphic Design 

  • Instructional Design 

  • Drafting 

  • 1-3 years’ technical writing experience (required) 

  • The ideal candidate will have technical experience in the mining and/or industrial sectors.  (preferred). 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) (preferred) 

  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferred) 

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook ) required
