Title:  Shop Material Handler

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shop Material Handler is responsible for delivering material to machines, staging and delivering components to be repaired by different departments, bin locating components, and managing the production shop’s inventory of soft and hard parts. Must demonstrate ability to be a self-starter, independent thinker, work safely and efficiently while working multiple jobs under pressure and at a fast pace.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct all activities in a safe manner.
• Verify dimensions using measuring devices.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move material.
• Keeps forklift operating by following operating instructions, performing daily inspections, and calling for repairs.
• Organizes incoming work by obtaining work orders and staging material or components for upcoming jobs.
• Use of computer systems to view inventory and issue inventory.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFACTIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. 
• General understanding of computers and Microsoft applications preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Work experience and/or education in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.  
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
