POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a key role in our operation in which our technicians are responsible for rebuilding hydraulic cylinders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety-conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.
- Adhere to all H-E Parts Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a good attendance record and maintain the highest level of professional conduct.
- Responsible for disassembly, inspecting and assembly of cylinders, ensuring the highest level of quality.
- Adhere to and ensure that all safety practices and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Perform basic tasks like cleaning and setting up parts for large and small teardowns.
- Assist or perform teardown of large or small components while working with a team.
- Prepare parts for transport ensuring safety for secure move.
- Operate the parts washer/pressure washer to clean parts for inspection and sandblast.
- Read maintenance manuals and drawings.
- Perform NDT testing
- Perform teardowns of major components with minimal supervision.
- Complete all inspection forms and photo documentation.
- Understand and practice proper use and care of precision measuring instruments and other tools for the use in teardown and inspection.
- Use a material analyzer to identify material for repair purposes.
- Proficiency in the use of chrome thickness gages to determine if plating repairs are possible when required.
- Competent in Paint and wash bay operations
- Lead team projects and help with training level I and II technicians while sharing knowledge and skills.
- Perform all paint and wash bay functions
- Proficient at using and reading micrometers and other instruments for inspections.
- Demonstrate ability to assemble and test all major components.
- Maintain high quality standards on all tasks and meets time requirements assigned to each job.
- Recognize seal dimension variations, understand seal types, and navigate available seal catalogues to determine if alternate seals are available for component reuse and repair purposes.
- Learn processes of remanufacturing major components
- Resolve small or routine discrepancies and bring high level problems to supervisors for resolution.
- Learn to use the ERP management system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School or general education degree (GED) is required.
- At least two-year mechanical work experience or equivalent education recommended.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
- Previous experience in heavy equipment repair; mechanical aptitude, and basic understanding of precision measuring tools preferred.
