POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Data Specialist  is responsible for driving global item master data management and standardization across the organization. This role leads the transition from legacy part numbers to a unified global part numbering structure, improving data quality, enabling better sourcing decisions, and increasing inventory visibility.

 

This position plays a key role in global supply chain initiatives by combining data governance, advanced analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to support operational efficiency and strategic projects. The role requires independent judgment, problem-solving, and ownership of non-routine, project-based work that impacts systems and processes across the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Item Master Data Management & Governance

· Lead the global transition from legacy item codes to standardized global part numbers

· Maintain and govern item master data standards across global and regional systems

· Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment

· Oversee creation, maintenance, and consolidation of item master records

· Facilitate cross-functional alignment and adherence to data standards

· Act as the primary owner of global item master standards, applying independent judgment to ensure consistency and alignment across regions

Data Analytics & Reporting

· Analyze item and supplier data to identify duplicates, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization

· Support development of reporting and tools to improve data quality and visibility

· Provide data-driven insights to support supply chain and operational initiatives

· Support data cleansing, mass updates, and continuous improvement of data processes

· Assist with inventory analysis and redistribution efforts

Sourcing & Supply Chain Support

· Partner with sourcing and engineering teams on part standardization initiatives

· Support decisions related to part equivalency, supersession, and obsolescence

· Enable improved sourcing outcomes through accurate and standardized data

Projects & Continuous Improvement

· Lead and support cross-functional initiatives focused on improving item master data structure and supply chain efficiency

· Identify and implement process improvements requiring analysis, evaluation, and independent decision-making

Collaboration

· Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Operations, and IT teams to support business objectives and drive process improvements in relation to global part numbers.

· Occasionally travel to other HEPI sites to partner with stakeholders and support on-site initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

· Experience in supply chain, inventory, manufacturing, or data management

· Experience with ERP systems (Pronto preferred)

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and across global teams

· Ability to apply independent judgment and analytical reasoning to solve complex data problems

Preferred:

· Post-secondary education preferred

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel

· Experience with item master or data governance

· Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

· Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills
