Atlanta, GA, US, 30338
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Global Infrastructure is a key strategic role responsible for shaping, delivering, and sustaining the enterprise’s global IT infrastructure landscape. This leader will guide a lean, high-performing team while leveraging vendors and managed services to drive scalability, reliability, and innovation across cloud, networking, compute, storage, and endpoint infrastructure.
This role is foundational to our digital transformation journey and is critical to improving global standardization, lifecycle visibility, infrastructure security, and user productivity. The right candidate blends strategic vision with hands-on execution, understands the value of "doing IT right," and is deeply committed to enabling the business with secure, simple, scalable technology.
This position will collaborate closely with Application, Security, and Data & Integration teams to ensure our IT strategies are aligned, efficient, and well-communicated across functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Strategy & Execution
· Develop, own, and execute the global infrastructure roadmap—prioritizing security, scalability, lifecycle health, and end-user enablement.
· Champion a cloud-first mindset while evaluating and implementing modern solutions (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) that align with enterprise goals and promote agility.
· Evaluate and implement managed service models where appropriate (e.g., endpoint lifecycle management), ensuring optimal balance between internal capacity and vendor capabilities.
· Drive modernization efforts while maintaining a strong foundation in infrastructure fundamentals—such as backups, monitoring, patching, and endpoint hygiene.
· Ensure platforms and infrastructure can scale to support growth and integration, including M&A.
Leadership & Collaboration
· Lead and develop a lean, agile team of infrastructure professionals across regions, fostering ownership, technical depth, and continuous improvement.
· Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence within the infrastructure team.
· Partner closely with IT peers (Applications, Security, Data/Integrations) to ensure infrastructure enables—not restricts—enterprise technology initiatives.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders globally to understand local needs, uncover inefficiencies, and deliver solutions that are both standardized and flexible.
Operational Excellence & Governance
· Promote strong adherence to ITIL practices—Change Control, CAB, Incident, and Problem Management—ensuring changes are well-governed and impactful.
· Define and track meaningful KPIs to articulate the performance and value of the infrastructure team to IT and business leadership.
· Drive standardization across platforms, tools, and support processes while still accommodating local business requirements.
· Ensure proper asset lifecycle management (compute, storage, network, and endpoint), with clear visibility into refresh cycles, warranties, support models, and technical debt.
Security, Resilience & Risk Mitigation
· Partner with the IT Security & Compliance Lead to ensure the infrastructure platform is secure, resilient, and compliant.
· Contribute to infrastructure-related controls and practices supporting frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and JSOX.
· Build and maintain a robust infrastructure that can withstand cyber threats and system failures, while supporting Zero Trust and modern network architectures.
· Experience with tools like Fortinet or Trend Micro is a strong plus.
Change Enablement & User Experience
· Lead with empathy and curiosity for the end-user—designing infrastructure that enables productivity and minimizes friction.
· Act as a change management advocate: engaging users early, minimizing disruption, and ensuring successful adoption of new technologies and upgrades.
· Promote a service culture rooted in clear communication, simplicity, and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required
· 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in global infrastructure leadership roles.
· Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
· Proven ability to design and implement infrastructure strategies that scale across multiple countries and business units.
· Strong technical understanding of hybrid environments (Azure, O365, virtualization, networking, etc.).
· Experience managing or integrating managed service providers and third-party vendors.
· Demonstrated success managing lifecycle programs for infrastructure assets and platforms.
· Strong understanding and application of ITIL processes and change management practices.
· Track record of aligning infrastructure with business needs and communicating technical value in clear, measurable terms.
· Demonstrated experience improving infrastructure maturity and standardization across complex environments.
Preferred Skills
